When cavemen discovered fire, even they worked out pretty quickly where not to use it.

Apparently, that knowledge hasn’t made it to everyone.

So, with summer approaching, here’s a reminder we genuinely cannot believe needs saying:

PLEASE DO NOT bring your preferred version of a BBQ onto a fuel forecourt.

If it fits in your pocket, is made of glass and Bunnings doesn’t stock it, take it somewhere else.

There are thousands of litres of flammable liquid here.

For everyone whose idea of Spin to Win involves the Waitomo app, thank you for having functioning frontal lobes.

Next minute, aunty, uncle, the bro from down the road, and a bunch of tradies warmed up their pipes and gave everyone at McDonald’s a side of entertainment with their Happy Meal.

Now we’re running it back. Taking it to a town near you, but in just a slightly different way.

So we rocked up unannounced with The Breeze Waikato 99.4FM and gave Suburbs Community Sports Club $5,000 cash for their wāhine.

Waikato Rugby and Radix Nutrition got involved, Naitoa Ah Kuoi rolled in on a scooter…

In honour of our referees and their 100 year celebration, Round 4 of the Waitomo Group Ltd Premier Club Competition is our Referee Acknowledgement Round.

This weekend we celebrate the ones in the middle, the decision makers, the game keepers. For 100 years our KCRU referees have been at the heart of rugby, and without their dedication, there is no game.

Let’s get in behind them. Show your respect, give them the applause they deserve, and recognise the huge role they play in our communities.

Another massive Saturday of footy is lined up across the region, so get down, back your team, and stand with our referees this weekend.
