Modtec Homes is the marketing identity of Furze Design & Development Ltd, which had its origins 50 years ago with my father John's vision for building quality homes for Taranaki people. I joined the business more than 30 years ago to continue that dream and help home buyers in Taranaki realise their dream in turn.

I share my father's passion for the home-building industry and completed my apprenticeship with him. That building journey began early as a two-year-old, when I accompanied him on his building sites, absorbing his knowledge and that of his skilled staff.

This thorough grounding in the trade has paid off over the years, with many new homes under my care winning top placings in the annual Registered Master Builders House of the Year Awards. I enjoy the creative aspect of my work and have strong feelings about design and attention to detail.
