Insulation is one of those parts of a renovation that eventually gets covered up and forgotten about, but it plays a massive role in how the finished home actually feels to live in.

On this full-house renovation, we’ve upgraded the insulation throughout as part of bringing an older home up to a much better standard.

It’s not the most exciting stage to look at, but getting these details right now means a warmer, more comfortable and more efficient home once everything is lined and finished.

A lot of the best parts of a renovation are the things you’ll never see again.

Pretty cool to see Peak Building Taranaki featured in the latest Business Central Magazine.

It was a great opportunity to share a bit about what we’re building the business around: quality renovations, good communication, and taking the time to get the details right.

A massive thanks to the team at Business Central for taking the time to sit down, listen to me waffle on about building and put it all together into such a great piece 🙌🏼☺️

Who doesn’t love it when a job starts getting to this point!

Plastering is underway, internal doors are fitted, and this passive home is really starting to take shape.

There’s still plenty to do, but we’re now getting into the finishing stages and closer to seeing the final result come together. 👌

A major exterior transformation starting to take shape on our Lincoln Road renovation.

The natural Weathertex cladding, black aluminium joinery and new rooflines have given this home a completely different character. There are still plenty of finishing details to come including the spouting, trims, baseboards and new entry steps, but it’s great to finally see the overall design coming together.

A lot has changed behind the walls too, with this project involving extensive structural alterations, a redesigned layout and a full interior renovation.

Looking forward to sharing the finished result.

With the Special Children’s Extravaganza taking place this Saturday, we just want to say how proud we are to be a supporter once again.

It’s an awesome event that gives local children and their families a day packed with entertainment, activities and plenty of great memories.

We’re grateful to be able to play a small part in making it happen and to give something back to the community that continues to support us.

We hope all the children, families, organisers, volunteers and fellow supporters have an incredible day!

Every renovation starts with uncovering what's really there.

Before new spaces can take shape, we first need to understand the existing home.

This week the internal demo has started with stripping the linings back, assessing the original structure, we will be replacing damaged framing where needed, and preparing the home for the next stage.

Renovations are rarely straightforward, but that's exactly why planning and attention to detail matter.

It's not always the most glamorous part of a project but it's often the most important.

Building Better | One of the most important parts of your home is something you'll never see.

One of the most important details in a modern home is the cavity system hidden behind the exterior cladding.

This cavity creates a small drainage and ventilation gap between the building wrap and the cladding. If wind-driven rain or moisture finds its way behind the cladding, Which can happen in any home, It provides a pathway for that moisture to drain away and allows the wall to dry.

Without that drainage and ventilation space, moisture can become trapped against the framing, increasing the risk of long-term damage.
It's a simple detail, but one that's critical to the durability and weathertightness of a home.

The SIP roof panels are now in on a high-performance residential project we're involved with.

It's been great to be involved in a project using this system and to continue building our understanding of high-performance construction. There's always something to take away from working alongside good people on quality projects.

Hope everyone's staying dry and rugged up today! 🌧️💨

We made the call to pull the pin today with the weather we've had across Taranaki.

Sometimes the smartest decision is knowing when not to be on site. The work will still be there tomorrow, but making sure everyone gets home safely is what matters most.

Hopefully everyone has managed to stay safe, and here's hoping for a calmer day tomorrow.
