Great day out yesterday at the Canterbury Master Builders Golf Day, with PLS sponsoring the 14th hole ⛳️

The Canterbury weather definitely threw everything at us — wind, rain and even a bit of hail — but it was well worth being out there.

One of the best parts was getting the chance to talk directly with builders about what we actually do with the HP SitePrint.

A few people had seen our ads on social media but didn’t fully understand how the system worked or just how much detail we can print onto the slab. It was great being able to fill in those gaps and see the attitude change from “this looks like a bit of a gimmick” to “sh*t, I can actually see the value in this.”

That’s exactly why we love getting out in front of builders and showing what this technology can actually bring to a project.

Always good meeting other builders, having a yarn and showing off what the HP SitePrint can do.

This week, we had the opportunity to visit the Otago Polytechnic School of Architecture and show the students what Precision Layout Solutions is all about.

We talked them through how we prepare construction drawings for HP SitePrint, before giving them a live demonstration of the technology in action.

It was great to see so much interest and engagement from the students. They asked plenty of good questions and were genuinely interested in how digital layout technology is changing the way construction projects are delivered.

A big thank you to Otago Polytechnic for having us, and to all the students who got involved. We really enjoyed sharing what we do and hopefully opening their eyes to some of the new technology and career opportunities developing within the construction industry.

The future of construction is looking exciting!

One year of Precision Layout Solutions! 🎉

Can’t quite believe it’s already been 1️⃣ year since PLS officially became a registered business.

Before starting the company, I spent a lot of time researching the technology, the industry and where construction set-out was heading. The more I learnt, the more convinced I became that this was the right move and that there was a real opportunity to do things differently here in New Zealand.

It’s been a massive first year — plenty of kilometres, early starts, late finishes, new connections, great projects and a huge amount of learning along the way.

And we’re only getting started.

The goal has always been bigger than simply putting lines on the ground. We want to keep learning, keep investing in technology, keep improving what we offer and continue pushing construction set-out forward in New Zealand.

There’s plenty more movement to come from PLS, and I’m excited to see where the next year takes us.

We’re proud to announce that Precision Layout Solutions is now officially a HP SitePrint Certified Service Provider.

This is a significant milestone for PLS and represents far more than simply owning and operating a HP SitePrint robot.

Achieving certification has involved extensive hands-on training, working directly with HP and Global Survey, and developing our knowledge across the complete SitePrint process - from CAD file preparation and robotic total station setup, through to safe operation, accurate printing, quality assurance and project reporting.

We have also invested considerable time operating the technology across real New Zealand construction sites, learning how to manage different surfaces, site conditions, control networks and complex project requirements.

This certification confirms that PLS has the technical knowledge, practical experience and systems required to deliver HP SitePrint projects to the standard expected by HP.

We are incredibly proud of how far we have come, but this is only the beginning. Our goal remains clear: to provide New Zealand’s construction industry with the highest standard of robotic set-out, accuracy and service.

Great to get along to BuildNZ today and see some of the innovation coming into the construction industry.

Really interesting to see how technology is helping tackle labour shortages and making construction more efficient!

Also great to hear from some of NZ’s top construction companies and get their insight into where the industry is heading.

Looking forward to getting back there tomorrow, meeting more people and learning more. ☺️

Been getting asked a bit lately if we can print on second floors… yep, no worries. Third floor today.

Pretty cool to still see all our marks from the floors below holding up too.
