- Ensign bunching grapple rebuild done ✅

⚒️All holes have been bore welded and machined back to spec.
⚒️Manufactured all new induction hardened pins.
⚒️Case hardened steel bushes installed.
⚒️Hydraulic ram stripped, inspected, re sealed and tested.
⚒️All cracks repaired and reinforced.
⚒️Rotate bearing serviced and wear tolerance checked.
⚒️Broken bolts removed and threads repaired.

She’s ready to go tickle someone’s fancy 🤪

We have added a new spider crane to our toolkit and would like to share it with you!

We love cool machines here at AET and this one is certainly that! - with 3 ton max lift, 8 meters of reach, rubber tracks, remote control and it even fits through a standard house door!! 🏠

Perfect those lifts where it is hard to access construction sites, middle of the orchard/vineyard rows where a truck can’t access, up a muddy narrow track or even inside a building.

Another successful OH gantry modified and installed into its new home 👌

With only millimetres tolerance this girl slotted into place perfectly thanks to our company policy of buddy checking measurements. This is where crucial measurements and math are always checked prior to any major cutting/welding etc to try pick up on or eliminate a potential mistake.

Cheers to the to Ryan Coldicutt for passing the Ultasound inspection of the full pen welds first time and Theo van Booma for assembly and installation meticulousness.

Action Engineering Tasman Ltd is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer / Fitter to join our team for on-site repair and maintenance work across the region.

This role is all about keeping heavy machinery running where it works — not in a tidy workshop. If you enjoy problem-solving in the field and aren’t afraid of big gear and big hours, we want to hear from you.

The Role:

You’ll be carrying out on-site repairs, breakdowns, and preventative maintenance on a wide range of machinery, including:

- Forestry equipment.
- Agricultural machinery.
- Civil and earthmoving machinery.

Work is mainly field-based, often in challenging environments, with long hours during the week and regular weekend work depending on customer demand.

What We’re Looking For:

* Qualified mechanical engineer / fitter (or equivalent experience)
* Strong experience with heavy machinery repairs and maintenance.
* Confident working independently on-site.
* Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
* Full NZ driver’s licence.
* Reliable, motivated, and not afraid of hard work or long days.
