With the summer months fast approaching it's important to maintain your PFDs and to inspect them regularly to make sure they are in good condition and working properly.
Inspect the internal gas cylinder for correct type, fit ( make sure it is screwed in) and has not been used.
Use a Prolan aerosol and spray the outer surface of the cylinder - wipe the excess off with a rag. Use the Prolan Anti-seize grease on all threads where the canister is screwed in. This stops corrosion and helps to easily undo when doing a maintenance service.
The best PFD is the one you wear, but it can only save your life if it works.
