Due to continued growth and a busy workload, Weld Up Engineering is looking for two new team members to join our expanding team. We're looking for one junior who's keen to learn and one experienced person with practical skills. If you're an engineer, builder, irrigator, mechanic, farm hand, ex-farmer, or simply someone who enjoys working with your hands, we'd love to hear from you. Every day is different, and you'll work on everything from engineering and fabrication to irrigation, farm maintenance, and building projects across Canterbury.Junior Engineering & Farm Services Technician
JUNIOR POSITION
We're growing and are looking for a motivated Junior Engineering & Farm Services Technician to join our team.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone wanting to learn a trade and build a long-term career. No two days are the same, and you'll gain experience across a wide range of work.
What you'll be doing
General engineering and fabrication
Farm maintenance and repairs
Irrigation installation and servicing
Welding and steel fabrication
General building and construction work
Equipment servicing and repairs
Working on dairy farms and rural properties throughout Canterbury
We're looking for someone who:
Has a great attitude and is keen to learn
Enjoys hands-on work
Is reliable and turns up on time
Can work as part of a team and independently
Holds a full driver's licence (preferred but not essential)
Has basic mechanical or practical skills (an advantage but not essential)
Experience isn't everythingโwe're happy to train the right person if they have the right attitude and work ethic.

SENIOR POSITION
Experienced Engineering & Farm Services Technician
Weld Up Engineering is expanding, and we're looking for another experienced team member.
We're after someone with practical experience in engineering, fabrication, irrigation, farm maintenance, building, or mechanical work.
You don't need experience in every areaโwe value people with practical skills and a willingness to learn.
Current farmers or ex-farmers looking for a change are encouraged to apply. If you've spent years fixing machinery, building things, maintaining farms, or solving problems, we'd like to talk to you.
The role includes:
Engineering and fabrication
Welding and steel repairs
Irrigation installations and servicing
Farm maintenance and breakdown work
General building and construction
Machinery and equipment repairs
Working directly with customers on-site
We'd like someone who:
Has practical hands-on experience
Can work unsupervised when required
Has good problem-solving skills
Takes pride in producing quality work
Has a positive attitude and good communication skills
Holds a full driver's licence
