The project now has more mirrors, more downloads, and more attention than ever. Louis Rossmann and GamersNexus both rehosted the code and pledged $20k in legal support.

Cost is one of the most common concerns for people exploring 3D printing for the first time. However, the reality is that entry-level machines have become significantly more affordable in recent years, making the technology accessible to individuals, schools, and small businesses.

Beyond the initial purchase of the printer, operating costs are relatively low. Filament is inexpensive, electricity consumption is comparable to a desktop computer, and routine maintenance requirements are minimal.

For businesses, even a single avoided outsourced prototype or replacement part can offset the cost of a machine. This is one of the reasons additive manufacturing continues to grow as a practical tool for both individuals and organisations.
