Our latest Community Update is out now!
We share an update from Chief Executive Nigel Barbour on network resilience, our CPP application, and how we helped power up the new stadium.

We also celebrate the next generation of innovators through EVolocity and GirlBoss Edge, acknowledge the incredible service of long‑standing team members, and take you behind the scenes of the Mt Horrible pole‑replacement project. Plus, a few safety reminders, a survival‑kit giveaway, and a look at how drones are helping us keep the power on across rural Canterbury.

Check it out and stay connected with what’s happening across our network. https://www.oriongroup.co.nz/our-story/community-updates

Congratulations to Geoff from Rangiora! Geoff visited us at the Malvern A&P Show last weekend and was the lucky winner of our prize draw, taking home a Stihl battery-powered chainsaw. We hope you enjoy putting it to good use!

As the Malvern A&P Show marks our final event for the season, we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who visited us at shows over the summer. We’ve genuinely loved getting out and about, meeting our community, hearing from you and answering questions about the network.

We’re already looking forward to being back out there next summer, and can’t wait to see you all again.

Banks Peninsula storm update

Damage to the network in some areas is significant. While we’ve been able to restore power to parts of the network, other areas are harder to reach. We’re using helicopters to assess the full extent of the damage and plan repairs.

We understand it is difficult to be without power and we will make updates as soon as we have information available to share, thank you for your patience.
