A project with very little tolerance for error demands precision. Setting ourselves up effectively to work with such a vast volume of European Ash was therefore essential.

“The roof is the first, and most lasting impression of the house.”

“From afar, you can trace its fine edge rising and falling along each elevation - presenting the house as a dynamic, rather than static, presence in the landscape. The form itself is derived from a gable, rotated diagonally across the length of the building and then cropped to the shape of the floor plan. This simple operation sets in motion a gradient of interior spaces, ranging from intimate to expansive, requiring an uncommon level of precision from part-to-whole that the team at Made By have realised.“ - Nick Roberts, Roberts Gray Architects
