'Angles, overhangs and unexpected moments define this two-storey holiday home designed as a year-round escape for an extended family. Clad in warm-toned larch, both inside and out, alongside schist features, the 214sqm house blends effortlessly into its alpine environment, while making a confident architectural statement. From the street, the home’s bold geometry sets the tone — its shifting forms and deep reveals offer shelter, privacy and visual rhythm. Step inside and the layout unfolds in a series of inviting spaces: three generously sized bedrooms, three bathrooms and a flowing open-plan living area that encourages connection and easy entertaining.

There are quiet corners too, perfect for reading, relaxing or simply soaking up the view. Timber-lined walls and ceilings give the interior a natural, cabin-like feel, softening the striking angles and lending a grounded, enduring quality. Carefully placed glazing ensures every room captures spectacular views over Wānaka and the surrounding landscape.
