The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Commercial Construction Site Manager to lead the on-site delivery of our diverse portfolio of projects. This is a pivotal role where you will have full accountability for the safety, quality, programme, and working performance of your site. You will ensure that every project not only meets but exceeds client expectations while adhering strictly to New Zealand’s building codes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
* Ensure full compliance with all New Zealand health and safety legislation (Health and Safety at Work Act 2015), building codes, consent conditions, and local council regulations.
* Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and direct staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance site culture.
* Implement and enforce site-specific safety plans, conducting regular inspections and toolbox meetings.
* Manage daily site documentation, including progress reports, RFIs, variation tracking, and quality assurance records.
* Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, council officials, and the project management team.
* Proactively identify and resolve construction issues, managing risks and minimizing delays.
* Drive a strong "safety-first" culture and promote sustainable building practices.

What You Will Bring:
* Proven experience as a Site Manager on commercial construction projects in New Zealand
* In-depth knowledge and a proven track record of working under NZ construction rules, including:
* Building Act 2004 and NZ Building Code.
* Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (including PCBU responsibilities).
* NZS 3910:2013 conditions of contract.
* Local government authority processes.
* Relevant qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related trade.
* Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams.
* Exceptional problem-solving abilities, organisational skills, and a keen eye for detail.
* A valid driver's licence and the right to work in New Zealand are essential.

We’re proud to announce the successful delivery of the new Mainfreight facility in Whanganui—wrapped up 6 weeks ahead of schedule.

Every project has its challenges, and this one was no exception. But through strong teamwork led by our Site Manager Rob, and great collaboration across the board, we overcame the hurdles and delivered a fantastic result.

A huge thank you to Tim Fitz-Herbert and the team at Fitzherbert Property Group for your trust and support throughout. It’s been a privilege to bring this project to life with you. And of course, a big shoutout to all the subcontractors who made it happen.

Another milestone for Whanganui’s logistics sector—and a proud moment for everyone involved.

We’re excited to share the successful completion of the new Popeyes Chicken and Starbucks development for Tahua Group Ltd in Palmerston North!

After an intense and rewarding 6-month journey, this project is a true reflection of what can be achieved through collaboration, dedication, and perseverance. From early planning and construction to the finishing touches, every stage required focus, teamwork, and a shared commitment to excellence.

The result? Two fantastic new hospitality venues, now ready and soon to serve the Palmerston North community with great food, coffee, and warm service.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed—from our site managers, contractors and builders to designers, suppliers, and the incredible Tahua Group Ltd team. Your hard work, professionalism, and determination brought this vision to life.

It’s a rewarding experience working with the Ministry of education on the Raetihi Primary School project in the Ruapehu District. A special thanks to Scafit Limited for providing reliable scaffolding solutions, ensuring we can continue progress safely through the winter months, regardless of the weather.

As our time in Taihape comes to an end…. For now, we want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey over the past four years. From the Taihape Fire Station and Courthouse to the Hato Hone St John Ambulance facility, the new Amenities Block, and the transformation of 104 Hautapu Street – each project has been a testament to teamwork, dedication, and pride in what we build.
A huge thank you to every staff member, contractor, and team who contributed along the way. Your commitment, craftsmanship, and resilience—through all the challenges and milestones—have helped shape lasting infrastructure for this community.
It’s been a privilege to be part of Taihape’s growth, and we leave with gratitude for the memories and the mark we’ve made together.

W & W Construction 2010 Ltd is proud to highlight the successful completion of the internal concrete works at the new Mainfreight Whanganui facility. A total of 3,000m² of high-quality concrete was expertly placed, with 500m³ of concrete used to create the smooth, durable flooring required for this large-scale warehouse.

The job was carried out by Rose Concrete Limited from New Plymouth, who utilised a state-of-the-art laser screed for precision and efficiency, ensuring a flawless finish across the expansive area. The concrete was supplied by Bullocks group Whanganui, and the entire process was smoothly executed thanks to the expert pumping services provided by Whanganui Concrete pumping.

This collaboration resulted in a job well done, with top-tier materials, equipment, and craftsmanship coming together to complete the different aspects of the Mainfreight Whanganui project.

It is with great pride that we announce the successful completion of the 15-unit apartment blocks at 18 Linton Street in Palmerston North, developed for SOHO and Wallace Development. This milestone marks the culmination of over 12 months of hard work, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who played a role in bringing this project to life.

As with any major construction, we faced our share of challenges along the way — from unpredictable weather conditions to the occasional after-hours visitors on site. However, thanks to the dedication, skill, and persistence of our entire team, we’ve successfully navigated these obstacles and delivered a top-quality development.
