Awareness Caravan on RDEI Program and University Policies Commences Today
The Office of the Vice President for Research, Development, and Innovation (RDEI), led by Dr. Nathaniel R. Alibuyog, officially launched its 5-day Awareness Caravan today, April 27, 2026. The initiative aims to streamline university policies and foster a comprehensive culture of research, innovation and community service across all academic units.
Opening the caravan at the College of Business, Economics, and Accountancy (CBEA), Dean Prof. Emil James P. Tanagon emphasized the importance of policy literacy for both seasoned and new faculty members.
"This activity is a vital avenue for faculty to learn, unlearn, and relearn. It’s an opportunity to gain fresh knowledge about the RDEI landscape while updating and improving our existing policies to stay relevant," Prof. Tanagon noted.
The caravan features specialized sessions led by university directors to ensure faculty are well-versed in the support systems available to them:
• Publication Support and Load Reduction: Presented by Dr. Nathaniel R. Alibuyog (VP for RDEI).
• Research Guidelines & Proposal Submission: Detailed by Dr. Dionisio S. Bucao (Director for Research).
• Extension Services & Community Engagement: Discussed by Dr. Marlowe U. Aquino (Director for Extension).
• Innovation and Technology: Facilitated by Prof. Armie C. Sabugo (Director for Innovation and Technology).
The 5-day event is strategically scheduled to reach all colleges across the university:

• April 28, CIT, CTE, COM, CHS, COD
• April 29, CAS, CCIS, CAFSD, CVM
