In celebration of World Earth Day on April 22, 2026, the Philippine Mining Service Corporation (PMSC) โ Bohol Limestone Plant successfully carried out a series of meaningful environmental and community-focused activities, reaffirming its commitment to sustainability and responsible stewardship.
At the break of dawn, around 6:00 AM, a River and Coastal Clean-Up Activity was conducted with the active participation of PMSC regular employees, service contractors, and the Mine Watch Team of the Safety Section. The team worked together to clean portions of the Manaba River, as well as the coastal areas of Barangays Manaba and West Canayaon.
Through the collective efforts of 36 participants, a total of 71.1 kilograms of waste was gathered. All collected materials were properly segregated and disposed of at designated disposal areas, ensuring environmentally sound waste management practices.
Later that morning, an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Drive was held at Barangay West Poblacion, Garcia-Hernandez. Representatives from the SHES Team of PMSC engaged with the community, sharing valuable insights on the companyโs programs and initiatives related to Safety and Health, Environmental Management, and Social Development.
The activity was further enriched by the presence of a representative from DENR-PENRO Bohol, who discussed the key highlights of Republic Act 9003, also known as the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000, emphasizing the importance of proper waste management and environmental protection.
These initiatives were carried out in unity and purposeโto honor and protect our one and only home, Planet Earth. ๐๐
