On March 27, 2026, the LIDE Management Corporation (LMC) actively participated in the Mangrove Tree Growing Activity held in Barangay Apale, Isabel, Leyte in celebration of World Water Day 2026.
The activity was spearheaded by the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Isabel, through the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Environmental Management Bureau Region 8 (DENR–EMB Region-8).
The activity brought together key stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, including locator companies within the Leyte Industrial Development Estate (LIDE) such as the Philippine Associated Smelting and Refining Corporation (PASAR), Philippine Phosphate Fertilizer Corporation (PHILPHOS), Isabel Ancillary Services Co. Ltd. (IASCO), and the Leyte Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative (LEDEVCO) alongside representatives from various local government offices and community stakeholders.
As part of the collective effort to protect and restore the coastal ecosystem, participants planted approximately 900 mangrove propagules, locally known as bakhaw, to help strengthen the shoreline and support long-term environmental sustainability.
