Visayan Electricโs residential rate for July 2026 is โฑ14.90/kWh, reflecting a โฑ1.16/kWh increase from last monthโs rate of โฑ13.74/kWh. This adjustment is primarily driven by a series of market and supply shocks across the Visayas Grid, including higher transmission and generation charges, global fuel price increases, and summer peak demand.
To shield consumers from a sharper hike, Visayan Electric coordinated with the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) to defer a portion of these costs, successfully cutting the immediate price increase by nearly 70%.
The utility is actively working to secure stable, long-term power sources. To manage monthly expenses, households are encouraged to practice energy efficiency, especially during peak hours (1:00 PM - 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM).
