PetroGreen's Bugallon Solar Project Adds Power to Luzon Grid; Nabas-2 Wind Readies for Commercial Operations

Last April 18, 2026, our 25 MWdc Bugallon Solar Power Project in Pangasinan started its testing and commissioning and begun injecting additional power to Luzon grid. This achievement was made possible through the support of the Department of Energy Philippines, IEMOP, and National Grid Corporation of the Philippines.

Prior to this, our 13.2 MW Nabas-2 Wind Power Project in Aklan received from NGCP the final approval to connect to the Visayas grid on April 16, 2026, bringing our facility a step closer to commercial operations.

These milestones reaffirm our commitment to the urgent imperative of expanding indigenous and renewable energy capacity across our grid.

Oil And Gas Professionals attending the SEAPEX Regional Conferece 2026 visit Maibarara Geothermal Power Facility

Maibarara Geothermal Inc. (MGI) welcomed delegates of the inaugural SEAPEX Regional Conference (SRC) 2026 held in Makati City to its 32MW Maibarara Geothermal Power Plant in Sto. Tomas, Batangas on April 16, 2026. The delegation was warmly received by MGI Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer Ms. Maria Victoria M. Olivar, Vice President for Power Plant Operations Engr. Paul Elmer Morala, along with key members of the MGI team who shared insights into the facility’s operations and capabilities.

The South East Asia Petroleum Exploration Society (SEAPEX) is a Singapore-based organization composed of geoscientists, engineers, and energy professionals dedicated to advancing expertise in petroleum and energy exploration across Southeast Asia. Through conferences, technical sessions, and field visits, SEAPEX promotes professional growth and cross-sector collaboration within the energy community.

SRC 2026 Organizing Committee Chair Arturo Morado Jr. remarked, “We thank MGI for the opportunity to visit its 32MW geothermal facility, which broadens the perspective of oil and gas explorationists as we usher the world into the energy transition era”.

The SRC 2026 and the visit to Maibarara come at a time of global energy insecurity and greater appreciation for the unique contribution of different energy sources.

MGI turned over a new Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Room, smart television, and android tablets preloaded with learning applications to DepEd Tayo Puting Lupa ES - Calamba City in Calamba, Laguna. This is part of MGI’s commitment to help the Department of Education (DepEd Philippines) deliver future-ready education.

Capped with a formal ribbon-cutting ceremony and an instructional training workshop on the use of the learning equipment, the initiative aims to inspire and equip teachers with tools to provide more impactful and technology-driven learning.

BKS Green Energy Corporation (BKSGEC), a subsidiary of Yuchengco-led Rizal Green Energy Corporation (RGEC), formally switched-on its 40 MWDC Limbauan Solar Power Plant (LSPP) in a ceremony held on March 16, 2026, at the project site in Barangay Limbauan, San Pablo, Isabela. RGEC is a joint venture of PetroGreen Energy Corporation (PGEC) and Taisei Corporation of Japan.

“The current Middle East conflict highlights once more the absolute necessity of securing our country’s energy supply and reducing our dependence on imported energy sources. The switch-on of this solar power facility, among the first utility-scale solar plants in Isabela province, is thus very timely. It also testifies to the Yuchengco Group of Companies’ drive to add more renewable, clean and indigenous energy supply to the country’s grid to power our economy and strengthen local communities,” said PGEC President & CEO F.G. Delfin, Jr.

The switch-on ceremony was led by PGEC President & CEO Francisco G. Delfin, Jr., San Pablo Mayor Antonio Jose T. Miro III, Vice Mayor Antonio N. Miro, Jr., Department of Energy Philippines Director Marissa Cerezo, together with representatives from PGEC Japanese partners Kyuden International Corporation (KIC), and Taisei Corporation, Isabela local government units, Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), Isabela Electric Cooperative II (ISELCO-II), Isabela State University- Cabagan (ISU), and other stakeholders.
