A book’s journey does not end when it reaches the hands of one reader. Sometimes, it finds its way to another community, another learner, and another opportunity to inspire.
As an extension of 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗟𝗜𝗕𝗥𝗢, the flagship community extension program of the 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗼𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆, we are grateful to have partnered with the 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗴𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆 𝗕𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗴, 𝗟𝗮𝗽𝘂-𝗟𝗮𝗽𝘂 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆, led by Hon. Jameah Ann Absalon and Hon. Hazel Grace Dolino, in bringing our surplus books to a new home. 📖
Last year, 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗟𝗜𝗕𝗥𝗢 𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗶-𝗹𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗴𝗼𝗻, 𝗗𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗷𝘂𝗴, 𝗖𝗲𝗯𝘂. While some of the books we collected were not suited for our previous beneficiaries, we believed that these resources could still serve a purpose elsewhere. Through our partnership with Sangguniang Kabataan Barangay Babag Lapu-Lapu City, 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗹𝘆 𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗞 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝘂𝗯, where children can read, learn, and explore in a welcoming community space.
On 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, USCChES was honored to be part of the 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗞 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝘂𝗯, a project pioneered by the Sangguniang Kabataan Council of Barangay Babag, in full partnership with the Barangay Council.
This partnership reminds us that service does not always mean starting from scratch. Sometimes, it means finding new ways for what we already have to continue making an impact. ❤️
