POWERING THE FUTURE: Seminar Highlights

On July 27, 2026, future and current electrical engineers gathered for an enlightening seminar centered on "Power Plant Fundamentals and Its Optimization."

The event officially kicked off with opening remarks from our IIEE Co-Adviser, Engr. Ericson L. Visaya, followed by a solemn Audio-Visual Presentation for the Invocation, Lupang Hinirang, and the IIEE Hymn.

The highlight of the event was an inspiring and deep-dive session with our distinguished resource speaker, Engr. Jerson Maglunob.

As a Senior Engineer for Digital Transformation, Smart Power Plants, Optimization, and Outage Planning at the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) in the UAE, Engr. Maglunob shared invaluable insights on modernizing power generation through smart technologies.

Beyond his impressive professional credentials—including being named one of The Filipino Times Watchlist Top Filipino Engineers and Architects in the Middle East and serving as the 2026 Chapter President of IIEE-UAE—he showed us the true heart of an engineer through his humanitarian work, such as the Oplan Dagitab Bigay Liwanag project bringing solar power to remote indigenous communities.

Building Connections, Powering the Future!

The Integrated Institute of Electrical Engineers - Cagayan State University Student Chapter (IIEE-CSUSC) successfully held its General Assembly, bringing together our passionate Electrical Engineering students alongside our respected leaders, including COEA Dean Engr. John Michael B. Casibang, Department Chair Engr. Ian C. Pagulayan, and faculty members Engr. Michael Orpilla, Engr. Denn Agatep, Engr. Ericson Visaya, Ma’am Jona Lioad, and Sir Roger Raquiño

The event featured key organizational updates, starting with Chapter President Gladys Caducio presenting the Constitution and By-Laws, followed by Chapter Secretary Jairo Agsaw laying out the upcoming Resolutions, and Vice President for Academic Affairs John Mark Abana unveiling the Official Organization Merch.

A day filled with new beginnings, learning, and teamwork!

Our First-Year Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) students officially started their engineering journey during the College of Engineering and Architecture Orientation. In the afternoon, the Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers – CSU Student Chapter (IIEE-CSU SC) initiated a Team Building activity that strengthened camaraderie, encouraged collaboration, and created meaningful connections among our future electrical engineers.

Hello, future Electrical Engineers!

Handa na ba kayo para sa panibagong semester? Naihanda na ba ang inyong mga notebook, calculators, at lakas ng loob para harapin ang mga equations, circuits, laboratory activities, at projects na naghihintay sa atin?

Isang tulog na lang at muli nang mabubuhay ang mga silid-aralan, pasilyo, at tambayan ng CSU Carig. Panibagong pagkakataon na naman ito upang matuto, makipagkaibigan, at mas mapalapit sa pangarap nating maging ganap na Electrical Engineers.

Asahan na rin ang muling pag-ingay ng mga GC, ang mga tanong na "Anong room tayo?" at "May assignment na ba agad?" pati na rin ang mga kwentuhang siguradong mamimiss natin pagkatapos ng bakasyon. 😆

Sa pagsisimula ng bagong akademikong taon, dalhin natin ang parehong determinasyon, sipag, at dedikasyon na naging dahilan kung bakit tayo narito ngayon. Maaaring hindi madali ang landas na tatahakin natin, ngunit bilang isang pamilya ng Electrical Engineering, sabay-sabay nating haharapin ang bawat hamon at tagumpay.

Kaya magpahinga nang maaga, ihanda ang inyong mga gamit, at magsuot ng inyong pinakamalaking ngiti.

Engr. John Michael B. Casibang, University Dean of the College of Engineering and Architecture, received the award on behalf of Cagayan State University (CSU) – Carig from the Professional Regulatory Board of Electrical Engineering for ranking 6th place (with 30 or more examinees and at least 85% passing percentage) in the April 2026 Registered Electrical Engineers Licensure Examination.

The university posted an exemplary passing performance of 86.84%, placing it among the top-performing schools, colleges, and universities nationwide.

The recognition was awarded during the oath-taking ceremony held on June 14, 2026, in Pasay City.
