A short refresher for all of us…
On 23rd March 1940 All-India Muslim League resolved to demand an independent state for Muslims, casting in stone, Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal’s vision, for an independent Muslim Nation, expressed in Allahabad on 30th Dec 1930. Nine years later, two years after Allama passed away Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, in a two-hour speech in English, in front of a gathering of 100,000 people in Minto Park Lahore, concluded “Muslims must have an Independent State” a resolution resoundingly adopted. With the joined efforts of thousands of Muslim League workers and leaders… seventeen years later Pakistan came into being on 14th Aug 1947.
