The ORIC office organized a lecture on July 19, 2023, entitled "Making Organic Chemistry Intuitive, A Sample Lecture on Carbonyl Chemistry: The Fascinating Realm of Carbonyl Compounds," featuring Mr. Aun Raza as the distinguished speaker. Mr. Raza, an esteemed student of honours chemical physics at Columbia University in the City of New York, has also been honored with the prestigious Obama-Chesky Voyager Fellowship for Public Service, a testament to his dedication to public service and academic excellence.
During the lecture, Mr. Raza provided comprehensive coverage of carbonyl compounds and alpha-carbon chemistry. Additionally, by request of the students, he took the opportunity to enlighten students about various educational opportunities and leadership programs available for students to pursue abroad, showcasing his willingness to assist others, share valuable information with his peers, and inspire other leaders to pursue careers in science, public service, and education across the globe.
Given his academic accomplishments and teaching experience, Mr. Aun Raza appeared well-equipped to share his knowledge and passion with the audience. The lecture concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, allowing students to engage with Mr. Raza, pose queries related to the topic, and seek further clarification.
