The Main Campus, University of Buner, is under construction at Swari, Buner. The land for Main Campus and Approach Road is comprised of about 87 kanal. The University of Buner is an umbrella project that is funded by
both the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the Higher Education Department (HED). The total cost of the project is PKR 1861.92 million. We, the Directorate of Works, are performing engineering services, i.e., feasibility studies, preparation of proposals for new projects, tendering of new projects, monitoring of project activities, execution of projects, maintenance and repair works, and suggestions to the competent authority regarding construction works. Further, this office also facilitates the university in the inspection of all newly purchased items, different documentation works, the preparation of TORs for different relevant committees, the verification of invoices from different suppliers and contractors, and the provision and preparation of specifications, designs, drawings, and estimates for new and repair works. This office executed construction activities according to drawings, designs, technical standards, laid-down procedures, and laws. Further, this office will ensure quality and quantity and reduce audit observation to the maximum possible limit. We, the Directorate of Works, are performing different types of jobs related to technical matters and urgent responses. The university is dealing with huge numbers of students, faculty, and administration staff, which needs immediate attention for providing basic amenities, repairs, and maintenance work for the smooth operation of the university's activities. We, the Directorate of Works, will have the responsibility to insure quality work, which will not only reduce cost of maintenance but will also provide iconic buildings and infrastructure to the University. Keeping in view location of the University regarding greenery and pleasant weather. Directorate of Works also planning to arrange different trainings related to construction industry. This will not only improve knowledge of the Engineers but will also earn some money for the University. Training will be conducted by the Directorate of Works staff and a resource person from outside of the university if needed.
