👉With an increase in the numbers of bacterial isolates resistant to first-line antibiotics, there has been a revival in the use of older drugs including 💊. Although several commercial tests based on different techniques have been developed, Dilution (AD) is considered the best method for performing Fosfomycin susceptibility testing so far.

The 💥AD Fosfomycin 0.25-256💥 is the first and only (international patent pending) ready-to-use commercially available kit for performing the agar dilution antimicrobial susceptibility testing, in compliance with the and standards, with 4 months shelf life at present.

Trichophyton mentagrophytes ATCC® 9533 on Liofilchem® Dermatophyte Agar (DTM) and Tryptic Soy Agar!
🦠The Trichophyton mentagrophytes complex is the second most common causal agent of dermatophytosis (tinea capitis, tinea pedis, tinea corporis, tinea barbae, and tinea unguium). It comprises five species—T. mentagrophytes, T. interdigitale, T. erinacei, T quinckeanum, and T. benhamie, as well as nine different genotypes of T. mentagrophytes / T. interdigitale—which are morphologically similar.
🧫Dermatophyte Agar (DTM) is a selective yellowish-orange medium, used for the isolation and differentiation of dermatophytes from clinical and veterinary specimens including those contaminated with other microorganisms.
Pathogenic dermatophytes (Epidermophyton, Microsporum, and Trichophyton spp) typically produce alkaline metabolites and most of them will produce a red color change in 3-6 days. Growth, without a color change to red, indicates that the organism is probably not a dermatophyte.

👨‍⚕️🩺Food borne Vibrio parahaemolyticus infection causes symptoms of gastro, including watery diarrhoea, abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting, fever and headache, and usually occurs within 24 hours of eating the contaminated food.
👉👩‍🔬Thiosulfate Citrate Bile Sucrose (TCBS) Agar is a medium used for the selective isolation and cultivation of vibrios. This medium conforms to ISO 21872 for the identification of Vibrio spp, including Vibrio cholerae from food, animal feeding stuffs and environmental samples in the area of food production and food handling. TCBS Agar is also recommended for isolating V. cholerae and V. parahaemolyticus as well as other vibrios from stool specimens.
🟡Strains of Vibrio cholerae produce yellow colonies on TCBS Agar because of fermentation of sucrose. Vibrio aIginoIyticus also produce yellow colonies (photo 1-2)
🟢Vibrio parahaemolyticus is a sucrose non-fermenting organism and produces blue-green colonies, as does Vibrio vulnificus (photo 3-4).
