Dr. Gohar Ejaz Appreciates Government’s Major Relief Measures for Pakistan's Real Estate Sector! ✨🇵🇰
Patron-in-Chief of ABAD, Dr. Gohar Ejaz, has lauded the proactive efforts of the Government of Pakistan in delivering significant tax relief and ease of doing business to the housing and real estate industries. Speaking on the latest economic policy updates, Dr. Gohar Ejaz highlighted three game-changing decisions from the government:
📉 Halving Advance Taxes: The government has reduced the advance buying and selling taxes from a steep 8% down to 4%, restoring crucial transaction space to the market.
🚫 Abolishing the 'Late Filer' Category for White Capital: In a major move, individuals utilizing legally documented bank-held 'white capital' will no longer face the discouraging 15% 'late filer' tax penalty when purchasing property to build homes.
🌍 Relief for Overseas Pakistanis: The mandatory tax return filing condition for overseas Pakistanis looking to purchase property in Pakistan has been successfully abolished.
Dr. Gohar Ejaz termed these reforms as highly positive steps that will encourage investment, facilitate overseas Pakistanis, and drive sustainable growth in the construction and housing industries.

Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD) Celebrates a Historic Win for Property Rights! 🏛️🇵🇰
The Federal Constitutional Court has officially struck down Section 7E of the Income Tax Ordinance, declaring it ultra vires! ABAD has consistently stood by property owners, and today, justice prevails.
What does this mean for you?
Introduced in 2022, Section 7E taxed "deemed income"—essentially taxing you on imaginary profit from properties that weren't even rented out.
Why it was overturned:
The Court agreed that taxing immovable property is a Provincial power, not a Federal one. By trying to disguise a property tax as an "income tax," the federal government overstepped its constitutional boundaries.
This landmark verdict restores legal clarity and brings massive relief to the real estate sector and homeowners nationwide! 🏠✨
