Abdul Basit (Maths 2024) is headed to the US as a Fulbright Scholar!
A journey that makes his story all the more compelling.

His academic record wasn’t perfect. But his curiosity, persistence, research, and the work he put in beyond the classroom opened doors that a GPA alone could never capture.

From being an NOP scholar at LUMS to earning a Fulbright, Basit’s journey is a reminder that there is often much more to a student’s potential than a transcript can show.

Three recent LUMS graduates, Maniha Inam, Haider Ali Boocha and Maham Faisal presented their research on resilient battery management systems at IEEE COMPEL 2026, held at the University of Cambridge.

The work originated from their undergraduate senior year project at SBASSE.

Four EE UG students from SSE co-authored two research papers presented at the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Conference (EMBC) 2026 in Toronto.

Focused on brain-machine interfaces (BMIs), their work reflects the strength of interdisciplinary research at SSE.
