This November, Katowice will welcome the Young International Academic Conference for the very first time — an inspiring gathering of 🎓 students and PhD researchers from Europe and beyond to explore the themes of energy justice and energy transition.
💬 The event will host insightful panels featuring international experts such as Alicia Phillips (France), Damiano Fuschi (Italy), Mohammad Hazrati (Singapore), and Erman Eroğlu (Turkey) — all bringing diverse, global perspectives on achieving a fair energy future.

🎓 As one of the world’s leading scholars in energy law and justice, Prof. Raphael Heffron brings his global perspective to Katowice as Chairman of the 3rd International Academic Conference “Energy Justice & Energy Transition - Global, Europe, State” (IAC 2025).

🌐 Also being a part in the 2nd edition of the conference, Prof. Heffron now continues his collaboration with the University of Economics in Katowice and the Department of Energy Transformation, bringing his global expertise from the University of Abu Dhabi, where he currently serves as Professor of Energy & Environmental Law.

Under his leadership, the conference unites academics, policymakers, and business leaders from over 20 countries - to explore how the energy transition can be not only effective, but fair. ⚖️

🌐 The Young International Academic Conference (YIAC) is organized under the auspices of the 3rd International Academic Conference “Energy Justice & Energy Transition” (IAC 2025).

Young Conference – an event dedicated to young researchers and students, designed to foster dialogue with energy sector professionals and inspire future career development. 💡👩‍🔬👨‍💼

We warmly invite all interested participants – from academia, business, and beyond – to join us for insightful discussions, networking opportunities, and the exchange of innovative ideas! 🤝🌍

🙌 The organization of the conference is supported by a group of dedicated students, who are an invaluable part of the team. You will definitely meet them in Katowice! 🎓 They are active members of a student research group Koło Naukowe Transformacji Energetycznej led by their academic supervisor, Grzegorz Zych. In particular, Michał Presz, Mateusz Homa, Mateusz Cieślik, Maciej Prusakowski, Karol Wawrzyszkiewicz and Bartosz Bieniek are closely involved in the organizational efforts and play a key role in the preparations. 👏
