Magdalena Radomska is currently conducting research at the University of Cambridge as a Corbridge Scholar at Robinson College, where she is developing her new book project:
The Art Cannon: Contemporary Art after 1989 from Post-Communist Europe to the Global South
The Cambridge research marks a new stage in Radomska’s long-term work on post-communist art, expanding it into a comparative history of contemporary art after 1989. Moving from Post-Communist Europe towards Latin America and southern Africa, the project examines how different histories of political transformation, collective practice and artistic labour challenge the Western-centred geography of contemporary art.
The book proposes not simply to broaden the canon, but to rewrite the history of contemporary art from East and South.

Dr Luiza Kempińska's application has been selected for funding under the MINIATURA programme of the National Science Centre. The grant will support library research and a preliminary study of the category of virality in contemporary art.
This study is part of a broader project on art and epidemic crises since the early 2000s. It examines how art from the Global South and Central and Eastern Europe has responded to sanitary regimes and to unequal access to care and treatment.

Forms of Friendship curated by Luiza Luiza Kempińska and Jarosław Kozłowski, presents 90 works selected from the more than 3,000 pieces donated by the artist to the City of Poznań. The exhibition also features works from the NET and Akumulatory 2 collections held by GaMA.

The exhibition also offers a unique opportunity to see photographs documenting the inaugural NET exhibition, taken by agents of the Polish Secret Service shortly before all the works on display were confiscated.
