This year's edition of Aspects of Neuroscience has come to an end. A massive THANK YOU to everyone who joined us at 13th Aspects of Neuroscience! Your energy, insights, and conversations made it unforgettable. 🤩

We are profoundly grateful to our Patrons and Supporting Institutions. Your generous support and belief in our mission provided the essential foundation that allowed this conference to flourish. 🙏 Special thanks to Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS) and IBRO (International Brain Research Organization) , who provided substantive support as well as spread the word about our conference worldwide. We are grateful and indebted to your expertise and insights on the improvement of the next editions of the conference. 😍

A special thank you goes to our Scientific Council. Your guidance and excellent
appraisal contributed to the quality of this event. Moreover, we are sure that your evaluation of posters and speeches definitely motivated future researchers to improve in their neuroscience careers. 💪

We are excited to reveal our last keynote speaker, Dr. Soila Kuuluvainen, PhD, from Cognitive Science / Department of Digital Humanities, University of Helsinki! 🧠✨

📢 Lecture Title: ,,Statistical language learning in adults – what facilitates and hinders learning?"

📄 Abstract: Since the seminal study of Saffran, Newport and Aslin (1996), statistical language learning has been studied in babies, children and adults as one of the key mechanisms of language acquisition. Statistical learning is based on automatic tracking of the probabilistic structures in one’s environment, and for language, the transitional probability structure between linguistic units. In this talk, I will focus on different aspects of statistical language learning in adults, looking at different aspects of speech and cognition which either facilitate or hinder learning. Special focus will be put on recent and ongoing studies of the neural networks associated with statistical language learning, and how manipulating certain nodes of this network with transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) may lead to improved learning outcomes in healthy adults.
