The GATHERS Project is officially over.

A week ago we gathered for Closing meeting at Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences, Poland.
We met to review what we have done, how we accomplished our tasks... but also to talk about the future.

We are very happy that we manged to develop the label GATHERS as a symbol of a good teamwork, devoted lectureres and mentors, united scientific family, alumni of excellent young researchers.

We would like to continue the mission of GATHERS in the future. Contact us if you would like to join us in our next project or if you have any ideas for improvement. We would be very happy to enlarge our team.

Our MSc students Sebastian Makuch & Dorota Włodarczyk have been visiting until last week, honing skills in satellite & .

Sebastian is diving deeper into satellite orbit simulations, building on his successful stint at earlier this year with Dr. Gregor Moeller.

Meanwhile, Dorota is on a mission to revolutionize and forest density determination. Her journey began with an ESA-funded project alongside Dr. Kamila Pawłuszek-Filipiak, where she tackled deforestation classification for Nigeria using Sentinel-2 and Landsat data.

🌍🛰️ Exciting News! Lately there has been happening a lot. winter school, hackathon and now: publications! 📑
Damian Tondaś published a paper in December, which introduces groundbreaking methods for monitoring with unprecedented accuracy. Traditional techniques have limitations, so the researchers developed an integration methodology combining and monitoring. 🔍

Scientists from foreign universities and research centres with at least a PhD degree are invited to submit applications to the next edition of the Ulam Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) programme.

The Ulam NAWA programme enables arrivals for the purpose of:

During the GATHERS Project 2nd , at Sapienza Università di Roma and suported by Uniwersytet Przyrodniczy we Wrocławiu, the competitors worked on two challanges for and on , and services improvals. All teams worked very hard but only one winner in the two categories could be awarded.

💻 The team named O'YEAH - Osmari Aponte, Yiting Cai, Eduard Nastase, Alexandru M Lapadat, Hubert Pierzchała won in the coding competition. We are waiting to see their work published soon!

💡 The young but very ambitious team from KNG Dahlta - Natalia Dziuba, Beata Olearczyk, Mateusz Kosek and Karol Pieprzowski won the . We are curious to see how your career will develop in the future!

Another GATHERS Project training on using variometric approach started today at Sapienza Università di Roma 🇮🇹.
Maciej Lackowski from Uniwersytet Przyrodniczy we Wrocławiu 🇵🇱, who is specialising on the usage and calibration of low-cost GNSS recievers, will work for a month with Alessandra Maria De Pace and Rachele Fratini. Together they will dive in the of Wroclaw 🇵🇱 GNSS stations 🛰️.

The participants at the Gathers_EU School were working the entire week in groups. Each team had 1 assignments in each topic - in , and . The tasks have been given during the practical classes and were finalised the last day of the School. Each team presented the for their task. All of them got very good marks and have been awarded with 2 points. Great job! Bravo to the students, teachers and mentors!

To ease the work during the School we organised series of online technical meetings. All the computers have been prepared and checked before the start of the event. The new approach we tried, helped accomplishing the tasks smoothly and in time. For sure, we will use it for other events in the future.
