Olivia just joined us as a Business Development Manager.
From London, Olivia graduated in 2019 with distinction from Central Saint Martins, in MA Architecture, where she gained the coveted Spatial Practices Award, and separately a Green Trail Maison/0 LVMH Award. Based in Portugal since 2017 and fluent in Portuguese, her architectural background is research and design for sustainability.

She has developed bio-based sustainable construction materials using waste from local Portuguese industries. These projects, in collaboration with various architects in Portugal and recently with the French luxury conglomerate LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, has lead to her work being exhibited internationally including La Triennale di Milano, Dubai Design district, Lethaby Gallery London and Award Stores, Paris.

Olivia´s expertise in sustainability provides valuable support to the increasing demand from international discerning clientele to explore alternative, low-carbon / eco-friendly construction solutions. In addition to advising on efficiencies in project design, Olivia also supports our business development initiatives and is our preliminary contact for new enquiries

Works are progressing well on this magnificent project in Rua do Salitre, Lisbon. Working for a great client (Dr. Marcus Harbord) & with the great team PHDD arquitectos. We’re proud to see the all-female management team on site, unstoppable & working safely through C-19.

The delicate demolition process at our ‘Afonso Sanches Palacete' project is coming to an end. Around 500 cubic meters of waste have been removed & carefully separated for recycling. Updates will follow the formation of these four super-prime family homes in the historical centre of Cascais.

VerdeOeste are delighted to announce that our multi-unit project on the Azores Island of Santa Maria has been aptly named 'PRIMEIRA VISTA’.

This branding marks an exciting new strategy towards the development being exclusively for tourism.

The VerdeOeste Team, with the support of our local partners, continue to represent our South African based client, most recently to obtain the necessary approvals and institutional support from local Town Hall and Azores' tourism authority (Turismo dos Açores).

It is anticipated that ‘PRIMEIRA VISTA’ will start receiving its first guests later this year. So soon anyone will be able to enjoy this magical place, surrounded by both sea and nature - watch this space!

We're delighted to announce a new starter at VerdeOeste! Cristina Ribeiro is a Civil Engineer with more than 20 years of experience as a Supervisor, Project Manager and also as a Safety Coordinator. Amongst many other projects, Cristina was part of several projects working for a major Portuguese retail client. She was also involved in a number of public school rehabilitations, delivered on behalf of Parque Escolar. She’s been specialising in works supervision since 2014, having also experience in cost control, site teams management, constructive pathologies, specialities compatibilisation and both supply chain & contractors management.

Cristina will be working with us as a Project Manager. Welcome to the team!

VerdeOeste were treated to a Private Tour at Joana Vasconcelos' amazing studio in Lisbon, hosted by Joana in person.

Following a chance meeting en route to the 54th Venice Biennale in 2011 (where Joana was participating with her work 'The World Belongs to You / Palazzo Grassi' and John was representing James Turrell for the construction of ‘Ganzfeld APANI’), a relationship of friendship and ongoing collaboration developed, leading to Joana and her team opening the doors of their enchanting studio and workshop to us and our guests.

After an introductory welcoming speech by Joana Vasconcelos, guests enjoyed a lovely Portuguese-inspired meal at the studio canteen, followed by a guided tour to the 'backstage' of Joana's art. A unique experience & a great opportunity to catch-up with clients, collaborators & friends.

We’re extremely grateful to Joana, her expert team and all those who attended, providing a very special end to another busy year at VerdeOeste.
