🌍🌱 Advancing climate-neutral agriculture: ICECHIM contributes to the AgroCliN Centre of Excellence

Climate neutrality in agriculture is no longer a distant ambition — it is becoming a scientific and technological priority. ICECHIM is a partner in the newly launched AgroCliN – Excellence Research Center Fostering Climate Neutrality and Resilience through Agriculture, a strategic initiative coordinated by the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest (Universitatea De Stiinte Agronomice Si Medicina Veterinara Bucuresti - USAMV Bucharest).

The Centre aims to accelerate the transition towards sustainable, resilient, and climate-neutral agricultural systems by integrating advanced research, technological innovation, and effective knowledge transfer.

💬 “AgroCliN reflects a paradigm shift: agriculture is no longer just an economic sector, but a key pillar of climate neutrality and societal resilience. Through this Centre of Excellence, we aim to connect cutting-edge research with the real needs of farmers, the environment and society, contributing to the development of sustainable and competitive agriculture,” stated Prof. Dr. Sorin Mihai Cîmpeanu, Project Director.

Within the consortium, ICECHIM strengthens the technological dimension of the initiative by developing solutions based on applied chemistry and materials science and by facilitating the transfer of research results into practical applications for agriculture and environmental protection.

💬 Dr. Habil. Irina Fierăscu emphasized the long-term vision behind the initiative: @“The AgroCliN consortium already demonstrates a solid capacity for collaboration and scientific excellence; however, the true value of this Centre lies in its long-term perspective. We are not speaking merely about an initiative with proven results, but about a sustainable platform that will continue to generate innovation, develop new competences and strengthen Romania’s positioning within European research dedicated to agriculture and the environment.”

ICECHIM General Director Dr. Biochem. Mihaela Doni highlighted that the Centre of Excellence will support both the consolidation of existing research competences and the development of new skills aligned with future challenges, benefiting farmers, producers, and society at large.

Through AgroCliN, ICECHIM continues to act as a technological driver for science-based solutions supporting sustainability, innovation, and climate resilience.

Cum s-a ajuns aici?

2023: peste 200 milioane lei;
2024: peste 540 milioane lei;
2025: peste 1.600 milioane lei.
