We have a “please don’t make me review all of this” problem. 🤖😅

That was the conversation at our latest Stories of the Web session with Simion Agavriloaiei, where we talked about code review in the age of AI.

AI can make writing code faster than ever.

But when code generation speeds up, something else becomes the bottleneck: understanding and reviewing that code.

We explored:

🔍 How exhaustive should code reviews really be?
⚖️ Why review depth should depend on risk
🧠 Why architecture matters more when AI handles more of the implementation
👀 And why you shouldn’t expect someone to spend more time reviewing your PR than you spent thinking about it

One idea stuck with us:

Your PR isn’t finished when the code works.
It’s finished when someone else can understand and trust it.

AI can accelerate ex*****on.

It can’t accelerate human context at the same speed.

The way we build software keeps changing—and so does the way we need to think about it.

At our last Stories of the Web session with Andrei Onciu, we talked about documentation, communication, and the importance of making technology understandable to the people who use it.

Now, we’re taking that conversation one step deeper.

Our next session, The New Bottleneck: Code Review in the Age of AI, brings us together with Simion Agavriloaiei, Member of Technical Staff at Wispr Flow.

AI agents are increasingly taking over code generation. But when ex*****on becomes faster and cheaper, a new bottleneck emerges: code review.

The question is no longer just “Does this code work?” It’s “Are we building the right thing, and what happens when we get the architecture wrong at scale?”

We’ll explore:

We don’t have a data problem anymore.

We have a “good luck finding what you actually need” problem. 🔎😄

That was the vibe at our latest Stories of the Web session with Ștefan Georgescu, where we talked about something most people use every day without thinking twice: searching for companies and products.

Type a query → get results. Simple, right?

Well… not really.

Because once you go behind the scenes, “search” stops being a feature and turns into a constant judgment call: what counts as relevant, what gets ignored, and how the system decides what “best match” even means.

We dug into what it actually takes to build search that works in the real world:

🧠 Signal modeling — teaching the system what “relevant” looks like (spoiler: it’s messy)
🔍 Match & enrich — turning raw company/product data into something actually useful
⚖️ Precision vs recall — do you show everything that could be right, or just what feels right?

When the way we build evolves, the way we lead has to evolve with it.

That was the energy behind our latest Stories of the Web session with Lucian Popovici.

There’s been a lot of conversation lately about AI, efficiency, and the future of work. But this time, we shifted the focus somewhere deeper: the human layer behind the systems we’re building.

Because while scaling infrastructure has never been easier, scaling trust, connection, and resilient teams is where the real challenge begins.

Lucian didn’t come in with frameworks or management playbooks. He brought perspective.

From years spent across startups, outsourcing environments, and complex organizations, he unpacked what leadership actually looks like when things aren’t ideal, when teams are under pressure, and when the answers aren’t obvious.

When the industry shifts, the conversation has to shift with it.

That was the spirit of our latest Stories of the Web meetup with Cătălin Mustață, Technical Lead at Stripe.

There’s a lot of noise around AI right now. Predictions, fear, hype. But what we wanted was something simpler and more honest: a grounded conversation about what it actually means to stay relevant as an engineer in 2026.

Cătălin didn’t talk about tools or shortcuts. He talked about mindset.

About the shift from software engineer to product engineer—builders who don’t just write code, but take responsibility for outcomes. People who use technology as leverage to solve real human problems, not just move tickets across a board.

We explored questions many people in the room are already thinking about:

🧠 Why technical excellence is now the baseline—and product intuition is the real differentiator.
