Open Postdoc Position in Ensemble History Matching at KAUST

Applications are sought for a 2-year (renewable) postdoctoral position in reservoir history matching at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) as part of a new research project funded by ARAMCO. The project aims at developing, implementing and validating an efficient ensemble framework for history matching Electromagnetic (EM) data. The research will be pursued in close collaboration with ARAMCO scientists and the KAUST Upstream Petroleum Engineering Center (UPERC). Tests with real EM data collected by ARAMCO will be conducted. Qualified applicants should possess a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics and Computational sciences, Reservoir Engineering, or a closely related field. Background and expertise in reservoir modeling, history matching and ensemble Kalman filtering, and good programing skills are required.

Benefits include medical and dental insurances, moving expenses to KAUST, free furnished housing while at KAUST, free international schools, family annual travel allowance to visit home country and annual payed vacation. Review of applications will begin as soon as possible and applications will be accepted and reviewed until the position is filled.
