Civil Aviation Department of Hong Kong Selects EPI UPS to Protect Critical Air Traffic Operations
The Civil Aviation Department (CAD) of Hong Kong has selected EPI UPS to provide reliable power protection for its critical air traffic infrastructure.

Two units of the XR+ 33050L (50 kVA) UPS system will be installed at Beacon Hill (also known as Bacan Hill) to safeguard essential air traffic equipment against power interruptions.

The Beacon Hill radar site is home to vital aviation surveillance systems, including an Approach Secondary Surveillance Radar (ASSR), which provides critical approach surveillance data to support the safe and efficient management of regional airspace.

As the authority responsible for managing the Hong Kong Flight Information Region (FIR), the Civil Aviation Department operates an integrated network of radar and communications facilities across multiple sites. These systems continuously monitor aircraft movements and help ensure the safety and efficiency of flight operations throughout the region.
