Hanoi, 21–22 July. Shandong Heavy Industry Group's Global Partner Conference has run through Astana, Dubai, Jakarta, Mexico City and Qingdao. This was the first one built around new energy and digital intelligence.
145 exhibits. 13 brands. Nearly 1,600 partners from 62 countries. Five technology zones anchored the floor: battery electric, hydrogen, hybrid, alternative fuel, and intelligent driving.
What a floor plan doesn't capture is how the two days actually went. Panels open. Questions about service intervals before questions about output. Operators sitting in cabs, working out whether a machine fits their site rather than whether it looks impressive. Partners bringing colleagues back for a second look.
That was the intent behind holding the show here. ＃SoutheastAsia is where the green and intelligent transition is moving fastest, and equipment is easier to judge in person than in a catalogue.
The exhibition ran alongside the partner conference itself, opened by H.E. Truong Thanh Hoai, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Viet Nam. Chairman Wang Zhijian set out the Group's next phase: localisation, decarbonisation, intelligence, and a shift from exporting products to putting down industrial roots in the markets we serve. Agreements were signed across SOFC, electric buses, electric heavy trucks, commercial vehicle powertrains, AI dozers and smart agricultural machinery.
In the energy hall: 16M55, 12M33, 8WH28, 16M33 and 20M55 gensets — diesel, gas and heavy fuel oil, for data centres, large infrastructure and island power. Alongside them, Weichai's microgrid solution, shown for the first time.
