Your Profit Is Not Your Paycheque

Many founders look at profit and assume that amount is available to take out of the business.

But profit is not always free cash.

A business may show profit on paper, while still needing money for:

✓ supplier payments
✓ salaries and CPF
✓ GST and tax obligations
✓ loan repayments
✓ upcoming rent and operating costs
✓ inventory purchases
✓ delayed customer collections
✓ reserves for quieter months

A founder should understand the difference between:

Profit — what the business earned after expenses.
Cash — what is actually available in the bank.
