The open kitchen has been a modern design staple for some time now. The pros of such an open and airy space, are many. They allow people to freely flow in and out of the adjoining rooms which encourages togetherness, closeness, and an all-around more social, and more interactive environment. At first glance, it would be rude not to acknowledge the monolithic island bench that sits proudly as the centrepiece of the polished ‘social’ kitchen. The sintered stone marvel features an off-white base with light grey flecks and veining throughout for a hardworking heat, scratch, and stain-resistant benchtop that does not compromise aesthetically. At the back, full height acrylic panel cabinets with metallic touches and a beautiful stone backsplash forms a connective design element with the kitchen island countertop. For a family who loves to cook and entertain and hoped for somewhere far from stock standard in their home to do so, One Design Werkz has delivered.
