💥 The next huge step is behind us. 💥
In the past few weeks we have completed significant testing in the Straton project. After the first STRATON 1 test at the end of last year, we completed the stratospheric flights with two more launches, marked STRATON 2 & 3. This stage brought us extremely valuable experience, gigabytes of data and unforgettable moments.
It was worth it! 🤯
Within the framework of the project we managed to verify all the necessary elements and set the operating limits and to get a little bit closer to the "space". Highlights included:
👉verification of autopilot and on-board systems functionality
👉verification of the range of the communication modules and telemetry
👉verification of sensor data collection with in-flight evaluation
👉verification of energy consumption and operation of on-board sub-systems
👉development of an internal methodology for stratospheric flights for our team
We go on, analysing all the data, writing reports on each experiment and enjoying the images from the stratosphere. And what's next? At this stage of development, we can already directly implement the acquired knowledge into the unmanned aerial vehicle, and in the next phase, we have flight (drop) tests of the scaled model to validate the flight characteristics and the return sequence. But more about that next time... 😊
On behalf of the Straton team we would like to say a big thank you especially to the members - Pavøl, Robert , Patrik, Michal and also to our friends who were at the launches - Peter , Erik and Klaudia. Thanks to the Aeroklub Partizánske for providing their facilities and to Coderama for providing a company vehicle to move the gear and technical equipment.
As fans of science and its popularization in Slovakia, we gave the opportunity to Samuel Kováčik bring the logo of his project Vedátor_sk into the stratosphere as well as logo of Žilinská univerzita v Žiline , which we represent. 😎
