IES, in collaboration with SALAAM UNIVERSITY successfully conducted a seminar titled:

"Preventing Structural Failures in Construction Projects: The Role of Structural Engineers"

The session was delivered by Eng. Abdishakur Abdullahi, General Treasurer & Honorary Member of IES, who shared valuable insights on the causes of structural failures, the responsibilities of structural engineers, and best practices for ensuring safe and resilient construction projects.

Yesterday, IES proudly participated in the celebration of World Environment Day 2026, hosted by Benadir University under the theme:

"Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future."

IES was represented by Eng. Mohamed Hussein Hassan, Secretary General of IES, and Eng. Ayan Muse Osman, Vice Chairperson of the Civil Engineering Division (CED) and Environmental Specialist.

During the event, Eng. Ayan shared valuable insights on environmental sustainability, climate action, and the important role of engineers in protecting natural resources and promoting sustainable development.

The event brought together academics, professionals, students, and environmental advocates to raise awareness and encourage collective action towards addressing environmental challenges and building a greener future for Somalia.

(IES) proudly congratulates Eng. Ayan Musse, Vice Chairperson of the IES - Civil Engineering Division (CED), on her successful participation in the Solid Waste Management Program held at the Tokyo Development Learning Center (TDLC), Japan ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต.

The program provided valuable knowledge and practical insights into sustainable solid waste management, environmental sustainability, and innovative approaches to urban development.

Through this international learning opportunity, Eng. Ayan gained experience that can contribute to strengthening waste management systems and promoting sustainable urban development in Somalia ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ด.
