Minutes 78’ winning goal? That will be me and my ONLY left foot allegedly worth over €𝟕𝟎𝐌 𝐩𝐥𝐮𝐬 𝐚𝐝𝐝‐𝐨𝐧𝐬 clause.

‘Let Awan Tell Its Story – A Proposal to Document Awan Muorkuau for President Kiir.’

REF: Request Article to Awan Muorkuau Community and Youth Leadership.

Dear Respected Elders, Community Leaders and Youth Leadership of Awan Muorkuau,

Greetings from a son of this soil.

I was, since the first day of President Salva Kiir’s recent arrival to our home village – Awan Muorkuau, present. I saw the dilemma he faced on trying to find out what ‘Royal Family’ wants at this framed time – he walked the muddy Milo Market, inspected Akon International Airport and wished he grasped all of Awan’s needs in a few hours, which later was unsuccessful. Neither option gives him the full picture, and neither gives our people enough time to speak.

I therefore humbly request that the community and youth leadership contract me to produce a short documentary film of Awan Muorkuau.

Why a film, and why me?
First of all, it’s time. An 8-10 minute film will show President the reality of Wanh‐Aleel Bridge, Akon International Airport, our schools, clinics, water points and homes in minutes, not hours.
Second, will be about voice. Elders, mothers, youth, and workers will speak directly. No filter. The President will see and hear Awan, not just reports.
Last but not less – ownership. This film will belong to Awan Muorkuau community. Leaderships will present it to Mr. President, during the next meeting with him. It becomes your tool, not just my work.

My role as a self‐taught journalist born here is simple – to record truthfully, edit with respect and deliver a product you can be proud to show. I’ll work with youth to capture footage and with elders to guide the message so it reflects all of us.

If you grant this contract, we can start immediately. The result will be a clear, honest record that helps Awan get attention and action from Juba, while preserving our story for the next generation.

I place this request before you with respect and hope. Awan raised both me and our President. Let’s use our voice wisely.

Yours in service,
Yak Malong Kuoc,
