Many PCB assembly issues actually start at the panelization stage.

For example:
• Insufficient rail space
• Poor fiducial placement
• Components placed too close to board edges
• PCB warpage after reflow
• Excessive stress during depaneling

These issues may seem minor, but they can directly affect:
• Yield
• SMT stability
• Soldering quality
• Product reliability

A good PCB panel design is not only about improving panel utilization.

It should also consider:
DFM, SMT process flow, depaneling methods, testing requirements, and production stability.

Many manufacturing issues can actually be prevented during the early panel review stage.

PCB assembly is not just about placing components.

A lot of people think it’s just
pick-and-place, reflow… and you’re done.

But in reality, most of the important work
happens before anything even goes onto the board.

This is where we usually see problems:
• BOM looks fine, but parts are actually hard to source
• Components already close to EOL
• Layout works electrically, but not friendly for assembly
• Issues that only show up when you go into production

And once you’re in production,
fixing anything is always slower — and more expensive.

So in most projects,
we actually spend more time reviewing the files
than building the boards.

Not to overcomplicate things —
just to make sure it runs stable later.

Honestly, it’s not about price.

What people actually worry about is:

👉 Will it run stable?
👉 Did we miss anything?
👉 Will it break when we go into production?

A lot of these issues are actually decided before production even starts.

Here’s what we usually do first:

• Go through the Ge**er / BOM / DFM and look for potential risks
• Double check key components (availability, EOL, lead time)
• Build a small batch (3–5 pcs) to make sure everything actually
works
• Set up the process properly so it can scale

Because the goal isn’t just to “build it” —
it’s to make sure it can run stably in production.
