📍 On Site in Lugazi: Steel Sections That Shape Our Structures 🏗️
In our current warehouse project, we’re working with a mix of H-section and I-section steel profiles—and it’s a great reminder that smart structural design isn’t about choosing one over the other but knowing how to use both effectively.
🔩 H-Sections & I-Sections: Both for Columns and Beams
Contrary to common assumptions, both H-sections and I-sections can be used for columns and beams—it all depends on the structural demands:
🔹 H-Sections (Wide Fl**ge Beams)
• Excellent for axial loads and bending resistance
• Commonly used for columns and primary beams
• Ideal for wide spans and heavy-duty support
🔹 I-Sections (Standard Beams)
• Efficient for lighter loads and shorter spans
• Used in columns where slimmer profiles are preferred
• Great for secondary beams, purlins, and floor joists
đź’ˇ Why Use Both?
By combining these profiles, we achieve a balance of strength, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. It’s a tailored approach—matching the right section to the right structural role.
Every beam and column on site reflect thoughtful engineering and practical decision-making. Proud to be part of a team that builds with precision and purpose.
