Happiest Official First Birthday to our Delilah!

She has come so far, but what a ride. 😵

I will write out her whole story one day soon in case it may be helpful for someone else who has a foal with CHDS, but today is not the day.

Our little Mary Jane is off to kindergarten!

Can't wait to see if she is as easy under saddle as she has been for everything else. MJ is looking for her new pasture and we want to give her the best start to help her find it.

‼️EDIT‼️ Rechecked her today for ovulation timing and discovered a pregnancy that we missed Sunday 🤣. He apparently did get it done. 😅🙌

HELP 😅

So, I purchased my stallion with this mare in mind. Complementary bone, temperament and conformation. She's a little too quiet, he is super kind but a working machine, and it seemed like the perfect cross---- until he couldn't reach her. 🫩 (He is for sale.)

SO- I can obviously AI, but he hasn't been trained to collect yet and I figure by the time I do that, I've spent enough that I could breed her to any stallion, plus I have her close relative already bred to him.

WHAT DIRECTION would you take this mare? What stallion (or type) would you use? Please actually look at this mare when making suggestions. Please do not post a stallion just because he's yours.

She's 15.2+ and over 1400lb (scale, not a guess). Zero temperament problems, but awfully big for most cow horse folks. She produces a foal just like her every year. Huge, huge bone, strong, quiet, smart and trainable.

Do I try to make a rope horse? Do I try to outcross for something more all-around/ranch riding? She has a wonderful temperament for that and suitable movement.

I only have a few days to decide if we're going to catch her this cycle.

She is 6 N/N.

My only NOPE is running bred QH.🫣

We replaced a clear ridge cap with solid green steel and repaired 2 sliding doors on a 60x120x16 in Mendota IL. The track brackets broke and the track dropped causing the big farm machinery to be trapped inside until repaired.

We installed a new Dutch door and built 2 new stalls to match the existing stalls in Maple Park IL. We also built a custom size arena gate for an odd sized opening. This was a fun little job for some great clients.
