Jack and Connor will be running a workshop on the command line. The command line is a text interface for your computer and it's a program that takes in commands, which it passes on to the computer's operating system to run.

LEARN MARVELOUS DESIGNER TO SIMULATE VIRTUAL CLOTH AND FABRICS
Join using the Zoom link at 8pm and Shira will show you where to download the trial of Marvelous Designer and how to use it to create your own virtual garments and simulate them on still and moving models. Make 3D art or test out designs before you cut real fabric. This software is used in fashion, games, movies, art, and more.

Tools/Equipment List
This is a partial list to provide a general overview; feel free to ask for details in our chat server! We're always adding new capabilities to the makerspace.

A major focus of the makerspace is re-use, repair, and re-purposing. We want to reduce waste and costs by serving as a hub for the community to share used tools, equipment, materials, furniture, and more. Much of what we have has been donated or saved from the campus waste stream. A few ways to get involved along these lines:

More stuff than you know what to do with? Donate some of it, and see it gain new life!
Want to volunteer? Start off by helping us process donations and salvage! We'll set you up with a box of things to be sorted, indexed, and organized into the makerspace collection.
Looking for something more specific & hard-to-find for your project? We try not to throw anything out...so we just might have it! If we don't, we'll help connect you with somebody within the Maker Network who might.

Woodworking:
Compound sliding miter saw
Sawstop table saw
Drill press
Scroll saw
Bandsaw

Machining:
CNC Mill/Lathe combination unit

Electronics:
Soldering stations
General components, wire, and lots of specialty parts as well
Power supplies
Oscilloscopes
Function generators
Multimeters

3D printing:
gMax 1.5 XT+ (large build volume, 16 x 16 x 21 in.)
A selection of more standard, smaller 3D printers
Laser cutting: We do not have a laser cutter on the premises, but staff have access to the laser cutter at the ADDFab Lab on campus. Talk to staff about adding your laser cutting job to the queue; staff will process these in batches.

Sewing and more:
A variety of sewing machines
A serger
A computerized embroidery machine
Lots of thread, accessories, hand tools, and sewing notions in general
