MCubed-1 continues to operate on orbit! Her mission would go on to be completed by MCubed-2 since she unintentionally docked with E1P (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M-Cubed). However, MCubed-1 still holds the record for Michigan's longest-lasting CubeSat!

Engineers from the Michigan Exploration Laboratory (MXL) traveled to the Peach Mountain Observatory last night to test a new CubeSat star tracker and marvel at the aurora borealis! The 26 meter dish antenna in the foreground will be used to communicate with University of Michigan College of Engineering spacecraft as they venture into deep space!

We were treated to aurora last night in southeast Michigan. The team was up late at Peach Mountain testing a star tracker and captured this photo of the dish and the aurora. A cloudless night in Michigan with stars, aurora, the dish, and friends, what a gift!
