FEAR Lab Develop multilevel paradigms to investigate transdiagnostic risk factors for mood and anxiety disorders.

Our goal is to develop multilevel paradigms to investigate transdiagnostic risk factors for mood and anxiety disorders. To do this, and in keeping with the Research Domain Criteria (RDoC) approach by the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), we are interested in integrating neurophysiological (EEG), experimental, and self-report approaches to studying risk factors for emotional distress disorders.

OHIO UNIVERSITY RESEARCH OPPORTUNITY - BRAIN AND BEHAVIOR STUDY.

We are conducting a study on behavior and brain responses to a series of different tasks and questionnaires for people currently having mood or anxiety difficulties.

You may be eligible for this study if you are 18 years of age or older, proficient in English, and have difficulties with mood or anxiety.

The study will last approximately 5 hours in total and involve two lab sessions. During the first session, you would complete an interview with a research assistant and several questionnaires. During the second session, you would complete several tasks while your brain and body responses are being measured. Each of these sessions should last approximately 2 and a half hours.

You could be paid up to $66 in return for your participation.

The FEAR lab had a great showing at in Washington, DC. Graduate students Danielle Cooper, Kevin Saulnier, AnnMarie Huet, and Shahrzad Moradi as well as undergraduate research assistant Sydney Jones all did an excellent job discussing their research posters. Dr. Allan co-chaired a symposium discussing the importance of attentional control for mood and anxiety disorders with Dr. Matt Judah (Old Dominion University) and gave a talk in Florida State University graduate student Brian Albanese’s symposium on gender differences in the late positive potential. Way to go all!
