Over the last few weeks in Essex Massachusetts, we worked through nearly 200 years worth of multiple additions and modifications to this house. The existing foundation consisted of a combination of poured concrete with approximately 7-foot ceilings, fieldstone foundations, crawl spaces, and even old patios, concrete and brick stairs that had been built over by additions over the years.

Getting this house ready required extensive excavation by both machine and hand, many hours of hand jackhammering old concrete and masonry, and the installation of over 65,000 pounds of steel to safely support and relocate the structure. Now it’s almost ready for installation of new foundation walls!

A huge thank you to our crew for the long days, hard work, attention to detail, and commitment to getting the job done safely and professionally. Projects like this are only possible because of the dedication and skill of the people behind them.

Late night into early morning (4/1–4/2), our crew teamed up with Mike Merrill and Merrill Service Co to move this historic schoolhouse through Milton, NH to its new home at the New Hampshire Farm Museum.

With multiple utility companies working alongside us, dropping and raising wires all along Route 125, it took a full team effort to get this done safely and efficiently.

Moves like this don’t happen without strong coordination, experience, and a lot of teamwork, and we’re proud to have been part of bringing this piece of history to its new home.
