New radiator on this infinity jx35. All data says the bumper has to come off. After fighting with it for a bit, ended up taking it off. All data also says the ac condenser must be taken out, I told that to the customer and said I can swing it out of the way while connected, but that might cause a leak. Week later and everything is working fine and ac still blowing cold.

Coolent leak on this chevy cruze. Ended up being a small crack in the coolent reservoir. Thankfully the local parts store had one in stock. Also replaced the battery as it has been sitting for a while and did not hold a charge. Made sure to do a pressure test to confirm that this was the only leak, also test drove it before hand to make sure the thurmastat was good.

If you are ever struggling to fit in a new alternator because you can't get it to slip on, just file it down a bit. Not too much, just enough to where it slides in.. Once it is bolted in, it ain't going anywhere. Also the dealer wanted $1,300 to replace it 🤯. Got the job done for less than half that.

Just did the front brakes (pads and rotors) on this cx-9. The top caliper bolt/slide (its one piece on this car) was siezed. Probably was not lubricated last brake job. Told the owner there is a 50/50 chance it will come out or snap in the bracket, otherwise you will need at least a new caliper bracket. Thanfully with a bit of penitrating oil and moving the stubby forward and reverse, I was able to get it out in one piece.

Just got done eith this dope f250 6.7. Customer's original complaint was that the heat was not working. Coolent reservoir was completely empty and it took 5 gallons of coolent to fill it back up 🤦. Bled the coolent system with a funnle and did a pressure test. Stayed at 16 psi for over 30 min. Oil light was on and I checked the oil and there was nothing on the dip stick. Major oooof. Drove to 3 part stores to get oil and filter. Finally found 5w40 diesel oil and premium filter. This truck takes 13.1 quarts and only 8 quarts came out🧐. Guy said that someone worked on his truck previously and must have not filled the coolent back when installing the radiator nor added the right amount of oil. Careful with who works on your cars and trucks.

Did a routine service/tune-up by Rotateing and inflating tires, changing sparkplugs (fords recommended at this milage), changing oil, and toping off coolent on this work truck. Thank God it was a newer one with the 5.0 and not the 5.4 like my truck. If you know you know. Even though ford also says change the air filter, it looked almost new and can definitely still be used. We don't recommend things that are not needed and only recommend things that are needed and tell customers when things will soon be needed.

Returning customer called with an interesting electical problem on a f150. Blinkers won't work if headlights are on or if the blower is on. After replacing this dead lawnmower sized battery with the right one, I started the diagnoses. Funny thing was that if the scan tool was connected, the problem would disappear. After testing relays and going through the wires, I finally found this ground wire that was just hanging there (rusted floor boards). Crimped new connections on there and secured it to a good ground that was not rusted through and the problem went away. Another happy customer!

Replaced a serpentine belt and tensioner today and oil filter cap gasket on gl320 cdi. Stupid difficult to get parts the same day but was able to get the tensioner within a few hours. What had happend was that the oil filter cap started leaking onto the belt at about a quart per 1k miles since last oil change (someone did not lubricate it before install) and the belt slipped off. Thankfully the belt flew off cause if it didn't and the customer kept driving, there would be no oil by the time his next oil change is due and he probably would have need a new engine.

ALWAYS get a pre-purchase inspection done before buying a vehicle! Did one on this nice looking Toyota FJ. While it looked clean inside and out and started fine, this thing was a rust bucket underneath. One can literally poke holes through the frame and cross members with one's finger (not even screw driver). It is bad even if it was a northern car.
