One of the biggest choices when building a fence is cedar vs pressure treated pine.

Cedar naturally resists rot, insects, and moisture. It also tends to stay straighter and more stable over time, which is why it’s the material most people choose when they want a fence that lasts and looks good longer.

Pressure treated pine is more budget friendly upfront, but it’s more prone to warping, twisting, and shrinking as it dries.

That’s why most of the fences we build are cedar. Homeowners usually prefer the durability and the natural look.

Want the look of a traditional wood fence but with stronger support?

One option many homeowners don’t know about is a post wrap. This is when a metal fence post is installed for strength and then wrapped with wood so it blends in with the rest of the fence.

From the outside it looks like a standard wood post, but the metal core provides much better long-term stability and helps prevent leaning over time.

It’s a great way to keep the classic wood look while upgrading the structure of the fence.

This 8’ custom privacy fence in the Woodlands of Krugerville was tailored to fit the property’s unique layout, complete with a double gate, an additional walk-through, and an upgrade to Western Red Cedar for premium durability and a clean, rich finish.

All lumber was dip-stained before installation — a deeper, longer-lasting method that protects from the inside out.

We finished it off with one of our favorite details: a Texas Star gate accent that brings a bit of bold character to a classic build.

Proud to do this one in our own neighborhood.
