The Craig Project. Summer 2022. This is what Western Colorado raw land looks like after a full site prep.

Six weeks before this photo was taken, there was nothing here but grass and an old rusted piece of farm equipment.

By August, two dozers had carved a level building pad ready for a foundation pour. John Deere 650C and a backhoe worked that pad until it was done right.

If you bought raw land out here and need to know what it takes to make it build-ready, this is who you call.

We're working with a limited budget to keep roads safe, especially on hills that get slick and dangerous. While a full redo isn't feasible, we're strategically adding gravel where it matters most to improve conditions for everyone.

You can't fake good compaction.

Every layer gets tested. Every lift gets rolled. Skip this step and you'll be back tearing it out in two years — that's if the foundation doesn't fail first.

This is what proper site prep looks like.

Irrigation headwall concrete pour — modular forms set, surveying tripod on site, and a winter Western Colorado backdrop that means we were out there working while everyone else was warming up inside. A headwall done right protects the entire drainage structure. We don't cut corners on the pieces nobody sees. Follow Grizzly Truths for more from the field. Five shots from the Craig project in Crawford. Boom arm extended, foundation walls poured, forms stripped, compaction done, three machines running the finish.

This is what a large pour looks like from survey stake to final grade.
